Chinnie Cot Hammock – 12” x 12” Freestanding Fleece Hammock for Chinchillas
A Chinnie Cot Hammock is perfect for one or more chinchillas who love to pile in and snuggle together. Most chinchilla owners provide their pets with a cozy fleece hammock for daytime snoozing—and our chinchillas rarely complain! These hammocks are also great for catching a chinchilla if it missteps or jumps, helping to prevent falls and injuries.
This 12” x 12” fleece hammock features a lightweight, free-standing PVC frame, making it easy to move and reposition. It’s an ideal option for babies, seniors, or chinchillas in recovery—or for those with mobility issues who can't safely use a ceiling-mounted hammock.

Chinchilla owners are often cautious about plastic—and rightfully so. However, PVC is very different from the soft, flexible plastics commonly found in many pet products. It is much more durable and is widely recognized in the chinchilla community as chew-resistant. PVC is commonly used for chinchilla play areas, including PVC pipes and half-shelves, due to its toughness.
Most chinchillas may take a curious nibble or two, but typically lose interest because of PVC’s hardness. That said, every chinchilla is different, and if your pet has a habit of chewing PVC excessively or persistently, this hammock should be used only during supervised playtime or removed entirely when not in use.
