Chinchillas are available for adoption with Cali_FID in MODESTO, CALIFORNIA.
Looking for a new chinchilla companion? We may have the perfect match for you!
Chinchillas at Cali_FID Rescue are often taken in from difficult situations, given sanctuary, and provided with the care they need to recover and thrive. Due to their temperature sensitivity, they are not usually brought to adoption events. Instead, an application and appointment are required to meet them. Please note that we do not ship or transport animals.
All chinchillas are housed in foster homes and cared for in pet-friendly settings.
Adopters are expected to provide their carrier, enclosure, and supplies. The adoption fee covers the animal only. However, gently used supplies may be available for a small donation—first come, first served, while supplies last.
As a special bonus for adopters:
Small Pet Select is gifting a free 5lb box of hay (shipping included, voucher provided at adoption).
Chinnie Boutique is offering 20% off your first accessory purchase (voucher provided at adoption).

About me:
This is Fig! he's the " newest " chin in the rescue and was not adopted. He is an ebony chinchilla. We do not know his exact age, but he's an adult. He was pulled from the LA animal shelter with another male, and they were supposed to be bonded friends. However, they began fighting and had to be separated.
Fig is very ambitious and outgoing. He will come right to the door and look for human interaction!
Gus & Fig came to us from over 300 miles away after being surrendered over the counter at North Central Animal Services in Los Angeles. Sadly, we have no history on them—not their original names ( maybe Rambo & Poncho from the kennel cards ), ages, or why they were given up. We don’t even know if their family reached out to any local rescues before surrendering them.
Fig and Gus, thought to be friends, showed us that they were not in fact a compatible duo when we arrived home to find Gus was bullies, butt plucked bald, and covered in pubcture wounds. The duo was separated indefinitely.
To adopt, you must apply with Cali_FID Rescue. Go to www.califidparrotandexotic.com and fill out the adoption application.
These animals live in FOSTER HOMES. The rescue group does not have a facility for visitors.
